The 12,000 sq ft. War Memorial building was built in 1921 and is identified as a city cultural heritage landmark. The... building was built on the former Oak Lawn Park with funding from city bonds and donations from the American Legion. The upper floor of the building includes a kitchen and a large multi-purpose room for dancing, meetings, banquets and other activities for groups up to 200 people. City of South Pasadena Have a safe, fun NYE! ♥ Look out for the City of South Pasadena rose parade float tomorrow morning at the Rose Parade with its 2009 theme, "Our Kids!" Did you know that the City of South Pasadena's floats are the oldest self-built floats in the Rose Parade? It's also the second oldest float in the entire parade, secon...d only to the City of LA by a year! South Pasadena has had a float in the parade from 1910 on. That's 99 years! Good job working on it at the War Memorial Building, and props to the SPTOR, supporters and volunteers for working so hard the whole year!
