Judy, the best way to get everything from southern plate is to go to the website www.southernplate.com and on the right column is-- subscribe to southern plate by email--, click here and give her your email. Sometimes you get extra stuff in email. If you have problem, come back and I'll try to help. I get the information in my email and then I check Southern Plate .Really I just check Southern Plate everytime I get on FB.~giggles~ FB seems to be my life these days. Enjoy your stay at SP.

I know of people who have successfully cooked their turkeys overnight. Please know that (some say) there is a risk for food-borne illness cooking it this way. Last night, I saw on Food Network that cooking the stuffing in the bird can dry the bird. I've also heard of the stuffing becoming contaminated with the turkey juices. I think Alton Brown said to cook the stuffing to a certain internal temp. Hope that helps.

I would always rather be safe than sorry. Food poisoning for Thanksgiving is not appealing to me. I make my dressing in a dish and serve it w/ confidence.

hi Mother Luv, sounds like Sandra needs some help deciding. our "basic turkey day tradition" is always dressing, turkey/gravy, mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole. pumpkin pie and choc pecan pie. the rest varies.....what is served at your gathering?

My basic is the same as yours except no pies. My mom was always the pie baker. Plus I know we will have cream style corn. I'm thinking of trying corn casserole. But some folks like English peas, some green beans, black eyed peas and butter beans. I hope I can narrow it down to at least two kinds.

Oh Christy P., I have told so many about SP too. I just got back from the dentist's office and taking them "Lane's Honey Bun Cake". That office left a mesj on my answ. machine from all of the staff asking for the recipe. Of course, I gave them the SP website. ;}

Christy told all us SP folks to make friends and have some fun so my new SP friend Tina Koenig and I decided to meet at a McDonald's Friday for our SP Adventure as she drove thru my state. We wore our pearls, exchanged pumpkin muffins/cake and took pictures. We had a delightful time making new friends. Thanks Tina and Christy for adding such wonderful things to my life. Hugs ya'll!
