A universal and eclectic musician whose percussions were required by the largest artists of the scene rock'n'roll, world, Anglo-Saxon and French song. An atypical route for this composer born in the United States, of a Cherokee father and a French mother and for whom the music is a mode of communication between peoples whatever is their language (tongue), their culture, their religion. Steve Shehan composed and produced personally 15 albums on about twenty years, soundtracks of films: Bye Bye / Karim Dridi, Le maître des éléphants / Patrick Grandperret, notably participated in Kirikou & L’amant.

His album "Elevations" was realized in association with the singer, musician and Iranian painter Reza Derakshani, taken out in June, 2006, was selected by FIP in 2006. The duet already occurred on stage repeatedly notably in one "live at FIP" in November, 2006 and in February 2007 at the Sunset in Paris. He is one of three members of the Hadouk Trio which performs regularly, has a big success with "Utopies" and won the 2007 French music award: best artist of the year. The trio just released "Baldamore", a cd/dvd recorded live on may 2007, at the "cabaret sauvage" in Paris.

And now, after Assouf (Nostalgia) and Assarouf (Forgiveness), Assikel (Journey) is the third element of the trilogy imagined, desired and now fulfilled by Steve Shehan and Baly Othmani. Offered as a CD+DVD with a 16-pages booklet, “Assikel, from Bali to Baly” is the illustration in music and images of Steve Shehan’s journey from Bali, the Indonesian Island, to Baly, the ‘blue man’, seeking his identity. Baly passed away June 18th 2005. It is as an homage to his souvenir and to fulfill his dream and his commitment that Steve Shehan decided to produce this new album, a tribute to this great poet of the desert. The movie, is a documentary retracing his quest for identity, achieved through and thanks to music. Written by Talia Mouracadé, narrated by Tcheky Karyo and realized by Thibaut Castan, this movie gives the opportunity to Steve Shehan to state his non-belonging to a unique reference. Shot in the Sahara, in Paris and in New York, containing numerous archive materials, this documentary includes about twenty testimonies of individuals who met and influenced Steve Shehan’s life one way or another.

Un parcours atypique pour ce compositeur né aux Etats-Unis, d’un père cherokee et d’une mère française et pour qui la musique est un mode de communication entre les peuples quelle que soit leur langue, leur culture, leur religion. Steve Shehan a composé et produit personnellement 15 albums sur une vingtaine d’années, des bandes originales de films : Bye Bye de Karim Dridi, Le maître des éléphants de Patrick Grandperret, et a participé notamment à la BOF de Kirikou et L’amant.

Son album “Elevations” réalisé en collaboration avec le chanteur, musicien et peintre iranien Reza Derakshani, sorti en juin 2006, a été sélectionné par FIP en 2006. Le duo s’est déjà produit sur scène à plusieurs reprises notamment dans un “live à FIP” en novembre 2006 et en février 2007 au Sunset à Paris.

Il est un des trois membres du Hadouk Trio, consacré "meilleure formation de l'année" lors des victoires de la musique jazz 2007, qui tourne régulièrement et connaît aujourd’hui un important succès notamment avec “Utopies” et tout récemment "Baldamore".

Et maintenant, après Assouf (la nostalgie) et Assarouf (le pardon), Assikel (le voyage) 3ème volet de ce que constitue la trilogie imaginée puis désirée et enfin réalisée de Steve Shehan et Baly Othmani. Sous la forme d’un coffret CD+DVD, accompagné d’un livret de 16 pages, Assikel, de Bali à Baly met en musique et en images, le chemin parcouru par Steve Shehan de Bali, l’île de l’Indonésie, à Baly, l’homme “bleu”, sur le thème de la recherche identitaire. Baly nous a quitté le 18 juin 2005 et c’est pour honorer sa mémoire et aller jusqu’au bout du rêve et de son engagement que Steve Shehan sort ce nouvel album inédit rendant hommage à ce grand poète du désert. Le film documentaire musical retrace la quête d’une identité, identité retrouvée grâce et par la musique. Ecrit par Talia Mouracadé, raconté par Tcheky Karyo et réalisé par Thibaut Castan, le film offre l’occasion à Steve Shehan de dire sa non appartenance à une référence unique. Tourné dans le Sahara, à Paris, et à New-York, avec une multitude d’images et de photos d’archives, ce documentaire regroupe une vingtaine de témoignages de personnes qui ont croisé et bousculé, d’une façon ou d’une autre, le chemin de Steve Shehan.
