Thanks for seeing our movie STOP-LOSS on DVD and continuing to make such interesting and wonderful comments.

The movie is continues to add significantly to the debate about the issue of STOP LOSS and soldier welfare

I just got back from DC where along with COLBY BUZZELL (My War), and 2 Senators and 2 Congresspeople, including Senator Lautenberg and Congresswoman Betty Sutton, we addressed press and members of congress about a STOP LOSS COMPENSATION ACT.

I was also in NY, doing a bunch of interesting TV and Media, including - CURRENT TV, LAURA FLANDERS GRIT TV, DEMOCRACY NOW and this Sunday they will be airing a show on STOP LOSS, Colby, I and some other people, including the mother of a STOP LOSS soldier did for on the CBS SUNDAY show.

We have provided links above. You can also check out kimpeircefan.blogspot.com and/or www.stoplossmovie.com/soundoff

Thanks

I am an Army Wife my husband hasn't been deployed yet, but I think this movie shows the other side of the story. I love my husband and I'm really proud that he is an American Soldier, but the truth is that not because your a soldier your perfect and that's something that everyone should know. Soldier are humans, like the rest of us and when they fall they do it like everybody. Thank our troops for being out there fighting for us. Thank God for the ones that come back mentally sane and the insane, thank God they COME BACK!!!

DESPERATE LANDS is the unprecedented story of U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers and the missions they have carried out while fighting the war on terror in the Horn of Africa and in Afghanistan.
The book is unique and timely, in that it tells the compelling story of our nation's struggle and of its soldiers fighting a new and different kind of war never fought before-a Global War on Terror.
This true story comes at a time when our nation has divided feelings and opinions about this war-a division that exists among both government leaders and the American people.

Awesome Movie!!!!

I loved the movie...My best friend is in the army and was over in Iraq for 2 yrs. I'm just so glad that she didn't have to deal with anything like that now that she is out. Plus the movie made me want to cry in a few spots.
An Excellent Movie on our Nations "Stop Loss" policy during the War on Terror!
by Regulo at 6:53pm on July 13th, 2008
The movie portrayed as much as possible the effects of soldiers coming back with PTSD, and dealing with our nations "Stop Loss" policy to continue the war efforts in Afghanistan & Iraq.

The story comes at a time when our nation has divided feelings and opinions about this war-a division that exists among both government leaders and the American people.

A must see movie as to what some soldiers may have experienced in combat!
I did relate

Compared to certain others who have written reveiws saying that their husband and boyfriends came back from the war and were normal. On the contray, my father did come back mentally disturbed. Sadly, tore my family apart and I ended up living on my own for about 4 1/2 years now. I think sometimes people need to show the deep dark side of issues such as this. Yeah, not everyone tht comes back from war is mentally distrubed but it is nice to see something that shows this side of war.
Love it

Ok

Ok, so for all those saying that this movie doesn't accurately portray soldiers when they come back, I just want to say that despite those of you that have come back or have had loved ones come back that have been able to adjust, the truth is that war elicits different responses from everybody. This movie is attempting to show some of the lasting effects of war on people and how being stop lossed specifically affects those that have already been fucked up by things they have seen and done. I am so happy that some soldiers are able to resume their lives when they return from the army but not everybody does.

Nobody should be offended by the way that soldiers were portrayed because regardless of who we know these soldiers are based off of real people
Killer Movie
by Danielle at 10:25am on April 16th, 2008
Absolutely loved this movie. I have seen first hand what can happen to soldiers when they come home from war. My father is a Vietnam War Veteran and he still wakes up in the middle of the night screaming as if he were in the middle of the war. It is a shame what the government is doing to the men and women that are fighting this war. They have a good point that the president has declared that the war is over, so why are they still sending our troops back? Thanks to this movie I now have more of an insight into the war. I will recommend this film to all of my friends.
disappointing!
by Lynn at 9:44pm on April 12th, 2008
I am the wife of a soldier who is currently in Iraq and I was offended by the way this movie portrayed soldiers! It made them look like mentally disturbed people. My husband is not mentally ill and neither are most people that serve. Are you trying to make people scared to defend our country? This movie had such horrible messages. If I knew that this movie was a political statement I would have never saw it. What a waste of my husband's hard earned money!
