Socialynx Richmond This is amazing!

Sheila McCarthy These stories remind me of the written work of Studs Terkel work which was to have people to tell their stories through his books, one issue at a time. I just adored Studs for his work, and love these stories. Thank you.

Dear StoryCorps Fans,
The second annual National Day of Listening – celebrated on Friday, November 27, 2009 – is just around the corner! With your help, we hope to make the National Day of Listening an ongoing holiday tradition, when all Americans set aside time on the day after Thanksgiving to honor a friend, loved one..., or member of their community by interviewing them about their lives and preserving that interview for generations to come.
Take part in this year’s National Day of Listening by conducting an interview with someone you know and inviting your Facebook friends to do the same. Nationaldayoflistening.org has resources including StoryCorps' Do-It-Yourself Instruction Guide, which has all the information you need to get started. On the site’s share page you will also find information about how you can upload your interview and post it to your Facebook page.
We also invite you to Pledge to participate at nationaldayoflistening.org/pledge. Tell us how you plan to get involved, and read about all the other ways people throughout the country are participating.
Thanks again for being a part of this exciting new tradition.
Happy Holidays!
The National Day of Listening Team
P.S. - Stay tuned to NPR all next week for special National Day of Listening broadcasts including all your favorite hosts playing clips from their own Do-It-Yourself interviews!
