I’m sure many of you have questions about the availability of the H1N1 vaccine.

As you may know, nationwide – and especially here in California – there is a limited supply of H1N1 vaccine.

Many weeks ago – at the earliest possible opportunity – Sutter Health affiliates followed specific procedures established by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to request abundant supplies of the H1N1 vaccine for our patients and employees. ... Read More

The CDPH, in partnership with county health departments, are solely responsible for distributing the vaccine. Because the CDPH has not formally communicated with us exact timing, type or quantities of future H1N1 vaccine supply, our affiliates simply don’t know how much or when they will receive the rest of their request for the H1N1 vaccine. This means our affiliated hospitals and physician organizations cannot schedule broad H1N1 vaccine clinics for our patients and communities at this time.

Our number one priority is always the safety and wellness of our patients and employees. Once we have more information about when we’ll receive additional H1N1 vaccine, our doctors and hospitals will further connect with patients.

Thanks,

There's a rumor one of the departments in my building is having a "dessert day." I'm going to have to deploy my party geography smarts to avoid the area. But I admit it now ... if I smell apple pie, it may be all over.
