Towson University Women's Center World's AIDS Day - Join the African Diaspora Club and the Towson University Women's Center for a presentation about Nelson Mandela's HIV/AIDS initiative. Today at 12pm in the Center for Student Diversity. Come and learn more about common misconceptions, issues and vital facts. Free African Food will be served.

We believe this Health Fair is so important. Many college students think serious health problems can't happen to them - this is not true. Life threatening illnesses don't discriminate - they attack everyone - being young does not protect them- in some instances, being young may make them more vulnerable, if risky behavior is a factor.

The Towson University Women's Center/Center for Student Diversity is sponsoring the event, " Daughters of the Promise: In Our Own Voice". The event will take place in the Potomac Lounge, University Union Building, 2nd floor on Thursday, October 15th at 7:00 pm. That night, Rory Kennedy, daughter of Robert F. Kennedy..., and Ilyasah Shabazz, daughter of Malcolm X, will be sharing important life lessons learned from parents who shaped history. Free Admission. Open to the public. Complimentary parking in the University Garage off of Osler Drive. Doors will open at 6pm. Come early to get the best seats.

Towson University Women's Center
The Women’s Center is sponsoring TU Toys again this year. Over the past five years, with the generosity of students, faculty and staff, over 4000 toys and supplies have been donated to homeless shelters, centers, and after school programs in the Baltimore City and Baltimore County areas.
This year, we are asking every... Towson University student to donate just $1.
We have about 20,000 students on campus – Wow, what an impact that would be. This would allow us to buy not only toys but school supplies, hats, gloves, blankets, sweaters, and coats for those in shelters. Faculty and staff are also asked to contribute. Your donations should be brought to the Women’s Center/Center for Student Diversity, UU, 313-311. We are open daily from 8am until 5pm.
We are particularly interested in multicultural groups, fraternities, sororities, athletic teams, intramural sports, etc. forming teams to raise as much money as possible. When you turn in your donation, make sure you identify the group to which you belong. The organization raising the most money will select the charity of their choice to which $500 will be donated in their name.
In December, just before the holidays, teams of students will go out on a SHOP-A-THON and purchase all of the merchandise. A wrapping party, complete with pizza, dessert and drinks will follow soon thereafter.
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR HELPING TO MAKE THIS A TERRIFIC HOLIDAY SEASON FOR CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES IN GREATER BALTIMORE.
