How come no one ever hands out the 18-250? SONY DSLRs will not mount the 18-270.

Wes Carver

Wes Carver I have a 18-200 F-3.5-6.3 and contemplating trading it in for a 18-270 F-3.5-6.3. Does anyone have experience with this lens? I am most interested in upgrading it because of the VC but i don't have any VC lenses.

Wes it's an awesome upgrade and you'll be a happy guy! The VC is outstanding and the extra range it has is another bonus... You won't regret it ;-)

Cory

Cory I had the 18-270 for four days when my car got broken into last week. I lost absolutely every piece of camera equipment I had. Looking forward to when I can afford a new setup and new set of lenses including another tamron 18-270!

I wanted to stop down the aperture a little bit more to take this picture, but since I could not use a tripod at the slow shutter speed that would result, I took a chance and shot at F/4 which enabled me to shoot at a faster shutter speed under these lighting conditions. ...

Blown away by the 18-270mm - basically all I am using these days unless some very specific need demands a different lens. Clarity, sharpness are excellent and the zoom range creates such convenience it is difficult to decide to use another lens in the arsenal. Recently added Canon 7D as my primary camera but had to b...uy it with the Canon 18-135mm kit lens. Gave that lens and my XSi to my daughter - who needs it when you have the Tamron 18-270 with image stabilization. The Tamron lens, Canon 7D and Photomatix HDR software and I am a "creative genius." Thanks Tamron and Canon.Read More
