Anna Williamson

Anna Williamson I would love to have one. I have a herniated disk and sleeping on my spring bed makes it worse. I can't afford one right now. Looks like everyone who has one loves them. Maybe one day....

Ian McLaren

Ian McLaren Had L5-S1 laminectomy for a double herniation 2 years ago. Bought the allura 4 months ago and have no stiffness when I wake. I am a side sleeper also and no longer have shoulder pain when I wake. I could not imagine my life without this bed anymore, it is the mot comfortable bed I have ever slept on and now have the... luxury of sleeping on it everynight. My girlfriend even says it helps with her hip and knee pains. My only negative is the price, make these more affordable.

Carmen Elena Mitchell

Carmen Elena Mitchell Hey - does anybody here know anything about Tempurpedics and Scoliosis? I just bought a tempurpedic Classic about a week ago, and am having a really hard time adjusting to it. I wake up everymorning and several times a night with severe achyness. I have a 22/35 degree curve (upper/lower respectively), and it feels like... the softness and lack of resistance is causing the pain (like the bed "gives in" to the curve). On the other hand with a conventional mattress I get horrible knots, and tightness in specific places in my back. Can anybody here with scoliosis give me some insight on this?

I've purchased SIX (so far!), and we LOVE them! My daughter named hers "Big Ken" after her grandfather, who died from pancreatic cancer three years ago. She loves it!

Hi Julian! We all totally remember dorm mattresses. It's like sleeping on a giant English muffin! If you want to make your dorm room a little more like home, you can try the Mattress Overlay:

Tara Wenzel

Tara Wenzel Ok I got a new venue for Tempur-Pedic. Make gym floors. All you have to do is walk around on that for 5-10 and your've broken a sweat. Imagine a whole call at a gyms on that stuff. it's harder then walking on wet sand.

Tara Wenzel Does anyone have the Advantage model? We've had it about a week and it's still hard as a rock. How long does it take to soften up?

When mine first came it was great right off the bat. They must be different, depending on the batch they came from or who makes it, although I doubt it is intentional.
I bought a twin for my daughter. A fork lift had gone right through the package, in shipping, sliced the mattress and it had to be returned/reshipped. The damaged mattress was VERY... See More soft, and the replacement is normal. They do get firm if it is cold. The warmer it is, the more give to it. Body heat softens it up, but as the name suggests, it is "memory" foam. It goes back to original when not in use, thus firm again when no one is on it. I was speaking with someone who bought one, and the day before the 90 day trial was up he they fell in love with it. It must be different with everyone. Personally, I wouldn't be without mine, pillows included!

I just received the classic model a few days ago. Seems alot firmer than the one at the store. They must have forgot to tell me I'd have to walk on it to soften it. So instead of sleeping, I'm up all night walking around on my mattress. Great!
Glad Tempurpedic doesn't make lamps, I'd be up all night turning them on and off.

Andrew White

Andrew White I've had Osteochondritis since I was a young boy. My wife and I purchased the King bed and "SidePillows" a year ago now. Unfortunately, this bed has really ruined both of us : ( ...... We now find it hard when ever we travel to get a good, solid sleep and wake up feeling refreshed like we do at home. Anything else no...w feels like a sack of potatoes. The pillow has even helped my snoring. THIS IS THE BEST BED EVER!!!

Michele

Michele We purchased our Tempur-Pedic in 2001. I have a bad back injury & this bed has been a life saver for me. Both my husband & I just love this mattress. We've had it for over 8 years now. We dread having to stay in a hotel because no mattress is as comfortable as this mattress. There IS a break-in period. Also, if t...he room is very cold the mattress will initially be firm. As you lay on the mattress it will soften up due to your body heat & the mattress soften up & will allow it to conform to you. I agree with the Tempur-Pedic literature that it probably takes a few weeks to get accustomed to the new mattress - BUT - once you do - I think you'll never want to use another type of mattress. At least for us, this is the only type of mattress we will ever want to have!! Give it the 90 day try-out period. If not, at least you CAN return it. I'd buy another one!!

We're so glad you've been so happy with your bed, and that it has been able to help you with your back injury over the last eight years!

When I got mine it was a last ditch effort to get some sleep and be with less pain. I was run off the road and am disabled do to the injuries from the crash, and left with chronic pain. When I got my bed, it was the first time in MANY YEARS that I could sleep on my back, which I don't regularly do, but at least I have the option if I want to. This bed is a god send.

Kenneth Klein

Kenneth Klein I purchased a Tempur-Pedic Classic four months ago. I tried out 4 or 5 different Tempur-Pedic models at the Sleepy's showroom before deciding on the one I want. (As in Goldilocks and the Three Bears, one was too soft, one was too hard, and one was "just right".) It did take me a few days to get used to sleeping on it. ...Even now, when I lie down on it, it feels very firm, yet I feel no pressure on any part of my body - very comfortable to sleep on.

I also purchased the classic model. I received it today. It seems alot harder that the same model in the store. Is this because it is new? Will it soften? Did you have to get use to it?

Theresa Johnson

Theresa Johnson My husband and I bought the Celebirty 3 weeks ago. I am having a very hard time sleeping on it. I find it way to firm, we were told to give 10 days to 3 weeks to start softening up, I dont feel any difference from day 1. Actually today Im as still as ever! Anyone else with this problem, Im seriously thinking about givi...ng it is 90 days and if it doesnt soften up returning it..

It took my wife and I about 3 weeks. That was 4 years ago next month and we love it and look forward to it every night. She was a bit undecided at first as well, but it has softened up a bit and is about perfect. I can hardly sleep on some of the fancy hotel mattresses anymore.

Trust me, by the end of your 90 day trial you will be shocked that you didnt like it in the begining.. It will soften up and be broken in in about 30 days...
