Derek Donaldson Hi, can anyone tell me how common Black Swans are here in the North of England. Havent seen many but spotted one a few weeks ago on Tindale tarn. Stunning looking bird.... Have also recently started putting fat balls out in the garden. Greater Spotted Woodpecker visited garden at least twice now in last week. Really pleased

Amazingly we've just heard that a mystery ringed Glossy Ibis we helped trace last year is a seriously remarkable record!6PW was ringed at the Fao colony in southern Spain on 3 June 2006. It was then seen over 6,000km away on 15 July 2008 at Oropouche Lagoon in Trinidad and Tobago! ...

Saysi Anne Coneys I used to partake in bird studies and counts for the BTfor Ornithology........glad to see it still is thriving!! I was a younger thing then!
