Patty I wanted to thank you both for the wonderful holiday concert at the Black Arts Center last Thursday. I hope to make this a tradition ever year as long as you two (and Sloan) are willing. Happiest of Holidays!
The Kennedys Mike Connelly died too young at the age of 56, but he lived a rich, music-filled life. I really don't know where we would be without him...he helped us get started when we first got together and gave us a generous publishing deal way back in the beginning. He helped us get our first record deal. He remained one of ou...r best friends throughout the years, and never stopped supporting our music. He let us crash on his couch before we made the move from Northern Virginia to NYC, keeping us up at all hours to play us rare Beatles tracks. He fought cancer with determination, but never took a day of his life for granted. He was a great inspiration to us as a friend and as a ten-year cancer survivor. He gave us some of the best mixed tapes, then CDs, we've ever received, turning us on to countless musical gems that we would have otherwise never heard. Mike kept his youthful enthusiasm for music always, and I have no doubt that brought great energy to those he worked with in the music biz. I don't think we'll ever listen to a Beatles song without thinking a kind thought of Mike. And if that's not a great tribute, nothing is. Godspeed, friend.
