The Adoration of Jenna Fox

The Adoration of Jenna Fox In terms we use today, Jenna's parents might be described as Hyper-Parents, or Helicopter Parents. Do you know any? How does it affect their children? What do you think is the cause of this kind of parenting?

The Adoration of Jenna Fox

The Adoration of Jenna Fox Jenna looks around her bedroom and describes it as empty and cold and wonders if it reflects her. Look around your room. Which three things in your room "reflect" you? Why? Is there one more thing you wish was there?

1. Original artwork on the walls. I really believe in supporting the arts on all levels. From throwing money into the hat of a musician on the street, to buying a piece of blown glass, to hanging my own children's artwork on the walls. I fear for art, and feel that we need to encourage every flame of creativity.

2. Dog Hair. (Now that's uninspiring.) But yes, you will find dog hair on the floor of my room, because as much as I hate fluffs of hair, I love my dogs more.

3. Books on nightstand. Well, that's no surprise, is it?... See More

And is there one more thing I wish was there?

A giant skylight. I would love to bring more of the outdoors inside and look up at the stars at night or see birds flying overhead during the day. I am happiest when I am outdoors.

Okay, I don't have to write mine. I can just use yours. Except, here in Texas I am not happy to be outside in summer. Ever. Maybe at midnight. In the pool. I really forgot how hot Texas summers were while I lived in Alaska. And how long they were.

Get Labradoodles--they don't shed. My Pyrenees? Sheds enough for everyone else's dogs put together.

Thanks, Carol and Kim. Coming from awesome writers like you two, you're making me blush ; )

And thanks Admin for posting this question. I would love to live forever--but not alone. Only if my loved ones were there with me. I can barely enjoy an ice cream cone by myself much less eternity.

The Adoration of Jenna Fox How Far Would YOU Go? Have you ever thought about it? How far you would go to save someone you love? Or how far you would want someone go to save you?

I think many people think that since I wrote the book, I have my own particular answer to that. I don't. Even after wrestling with the question for 2 and a half years during the writing of the book, I still don't know. Every situation is so different, but I suspect I would go a very long way to save someone I love.
The only conclusion I did come to is that none of us knows exactly what we would do in an impossible situation until we are actually there.

As for me, I usually make light of it with my family and say "pull the plug!" I think it's easier to dismiss our own lives than those we love.

I'm not sure... I really think it's their choice. If they can't make it... I don't know, depends on how things are likely to turn out.

As for me... if I was seriously sick I'd wish to be allowed to die, I wouldn't like to have to suffer for those extra days, weeks, months, whatever. It would probably hurt my friends and family, but they'd know it'd be what I want.
