It was stunning; to see the events in 60's and 70's Germany is so different than reading about them. The movie does a great job of explaining the reasons behind the RAF's armed struggle in a way that prevents romanticizing or demonizing them. It shows them to be human beings that were caught up in the spirit of their time.

BTW, when will it come out on Region 1 DVD?

I'll do that, we have a great local independent theatre in Montpelier called The Savoy - this movie would be right up their alley. I'm surprised they played it yet, or announced it as coming soon. I'll give them a call. Oh, and thanks for the embarrassing mention in your status! But if my story can prevent even one person from missing this movie, it will be worth it! :) So that's right folks, if your date won't see the movie with you right away, find another date!
