Thanks for the update Terri. And J.C. - we'll keep our eyes peeled for those "hyped up on sulfites" wines you're talking about :)

The Cork Dorks There is humor in this although it is at another's misfortune. However, in the end the bottle of wine is open, without breaking the bottle.

I like the idea of keeping the wine fresh for a longer period of time...but is this for all types of wine?

My dilemma was that my wife & I had collected so many wines that we lost track as to exactly how much we spent on each bottle. That is; until one day I accidentally opened a $40 dollar estate grown bottle we brought back from Napa. Thus started the era of the boxed wine for me & now I am hooked! Only one brand & I tried a few...BLACK BOX wines. My favorite varietal of this brand? Cabernet Sauvignon.

Thanks Lorraine and Marco ... really any wine can be packaged this way ... and we agree that Black Box makes good quality wine for the money. As consumers get more comfortable with the pricepoint, we think you'll continue to see new wines released in box.

The Cork Dorks came across this article today about the possible positive impact of the compound resveratrol, found in the skin of red grapes. We've covered other articles that suggest a positive link between grapes or moderate wine consumption and health, so we're asking, What's your take on these studies and have they impacted your decision to drink wine?

Source: www.sciencedaily.com
ScienceDaily (Oct. 20, 2009) A naturally produced molecule called resveratrol, found in the skin of red grapes, has been shown to lower insulin levels in mice when injected directly into the brain, even when the animals ate a high-fat diet.
