Do you wonder if we should be taking a band aid approach to our society and economy or should we be creating a generation of children that won't need band aids?
Unfortunately, we all know the current state of our economy. It is my belief that this is a direct result of what we were taught in school and what our children are still being taught today. In order to make our world a better place, we need to start from the beginning. It is also my belief that all children must not only be allowed access but MUST be required access to the information.
* So what if we could teach all of our children the skills that will allow them to become productive citizens right out of school?
* What if our children understood that debt can work both for and against the debtor and how to utilize it effectively?
* What if our graduating children knew how to run a business and had the skills that empowered them to make an informed choice in regards to their future?
Would these children make a more positive impact on our economy and be more valuable to our society?
My goal is to entirely update our current public school system and create a curriculum and overall education system that will produce productive citizens for our world as it exists today, not as it was originally designed several decades ago when debt and credit didn't exist and becoming a business owner was something that only happened to the already rich.
Here are a few other important points that need to be updated.
* Teachers must be rewarded and well paid for a job well done based on several factors and not just test results alone. A teacher should never be tenured.
* Standardized tests do not effectively teach our children how to think and become productive citizens. It results in little more than temporarily learning material that can then be forgotten.
* Not all children learn the same way and classrooms should either be set up to accommodate these differences or different classrooms can be formed to meet these different needs.
