Farmers' Almanac wants to know how do you make your mashed potatoes - do you add cream cheese or sour cream? What about bacon bets or do you prefer sweet potatoes?

Both instant garlic mashed potatoes and baked sweet potatoes. I add water instead of milk to keep it low calorie. The garlic mash potatoes are just as creamy with water instead of milk.

At this moment, I would love to have any ideas on making laundry detergent. I have been suffering for the past 2 weeks with a horrible allergic skin rash from Sun Tropical Breeze detergent. I have already learned of 4 more cases of this rash from the same detergent. So, any mild home-made ideas are welcome here....

IMHO, As It was explained to me & as I understand it, a cleric member of the Roman church changed the former (old) calender to the currently used Gergorian calender. the former calneder Had 13 months, and to create conversion to the Gergorian calender, 13 was denoted as "unlucky" to encourage conversion to the later calender advocated by the church. 13 the day is not unlucky, rather it was the misunderstanding-myth maintained thru the centuries

Concerning rain dances, here is a quote from Gov. William Bradford's "History of Plymouth Plantation" in which an Indian who observed God-given rain save the Pilgrims' corn crop:
"Now I see that the Englishman's God is a good God; for He hath heard you and sent you rain, and that without such tempest and thunder as we used to have with our rain; after which our Powawing for it. breaks down the corn; whereas your corn stands whole and good still; surely, your God is a good God."

Take time to clean out the stuff you've been storing for the kids and other family members. Wrap it up, and put the homemade goodies they always expect with it and give it to them for Christmas. You'll save money, and clean out your storage at the same time!
