It has been twenty years now since GM unveiled its Impact electric concept, which ultimately led to the EV1 electric car. Not everybody heard about the EV1 though, because it was confined mostly to California on limited leasing agreements. We all know how the EV1 turned out.

FUEL Venice, CA. I drove by this late last week and just had to slow down for a photo. If 150MPG isn't enough for you, then I honestly don't know what is.

FUEL So this morning I was reading comments from yesterday's post and came across a comment left by Curtis Barrett about an algae fueled Lamborghini. It give me a few chuckles thinking about the idea, but then I got to browsing the web and came across this little article. Looks like we can expect to see Curtis's dream become reality in less than a decade.

Lamborghini is known for many things; sexy sounding V12 engines, outrageous, egregious bodykits, and low fuel efficiency (often in the single digits). But a hybrid?

FUEL Santa Monica, CA. Perhaps it's not as quiant as the prius but I'd like to see the prius tow a jet. That's what you get with a V10 and biodiesel.

FUEL It's Monday and that means it's time to get back to the grind. We all know Monday's can be a drag so here's a quick little video to get the week started. Photographer Edward Burtynsky recently released a piece of work chronicling the footprints of oil through modern society. The images are stunning to say the least an...d it translates as a visual realization of the prices we pay for society's dependence on oil. Also, the bit at the end on stockholm's traffic system is rather interesting. Just ignore the part about it being an IBM ad.

FUEL We need more initiatives like this. Biodiesel is the way to go. For one thing schools could see incredible benefits from outfitting their bus fleets with biodiesel.

SeQuential Pacific Biodiesel completed a brand-new expanded capacity plant with state-of-the-art technology, making it Pacific Biodiesel's most efficient design to date. Community based biodiesel production is a way to provide local and sustainable energy to any region.

FUEL I thought this was just another algae article but the the tech they talk about makes this new alternative fuel option that much more appealing and environmentally friendly
