TheHomeSchoolMom "On the day after Thanksgiving, set aside one hour to record a
conversation with someone important to you. You can interview anyone
you choose: an older relative, a friend, a teacher, or someone from the
neighborhood."

I am researching my family history and the importance of preserving
these memories while people are still... able to share them cannot be
overstated. Thanksgiving is a wonderful to time start this tradition.
The site includes a downloadable guide for the conversation with
suggested topics and questions (requires free registration but their
privacy policy is reasonable).

This isn't a flu tip, but a foodbourne illness tip: bag all produce that won't be peeled, even if it seems wasteful, because grocery store conveyer belts harbor salmonella, listeria, campylobacter, e.coli, etc. from meat packages. Most of these need temperatures above 150 or under 32 degrees to be killed, and most will live overnight when the store was closed, to be viable in the morning.

I've thought about that, Larisa. I didn't bag produce for the longest time and realized one day how gross that is even if I wash it. Now I bag everything except hard-shell items (pineapple, cantaloupe, etc.).

TheHomeSchoolMom Do you know why 11am on Nov. 11th is significant? WWI "fighting ceased ... when an armistice, or
temporary cessation of hostilities, between the Allied nations and
Germany went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of
the eleventh month. For that reason, November 11, 1918, is generally
regarded as the end of... 'the war to end all wars.'”
