DRM'nBASS - Our Policy: Lowest Frequencies Guaranteed!
Saturday the 23rd of May
"At DRM'nBASS our policy is to provide New Zealand’s best music at the absolute lowest frequencies guaranteed. Because we only stock the best local talent we can purchase in large volumes which allows us to give you the lowest price. Naturall...y we ask for you to buy your own alcohol at the bar, as we know that you don’t want to pay for added extras hidden in the price of entry.
Finally, you won’t find yourself dancing to luxurious (and costly!) house music at our events, when we know that you would much rather practical and more functional music. In fact, everything we do that delivers the DRM'nBASS experience, we do to save you money so that you can spend it on what matters most.
Rest assured, that at DRM'nBASS you will find a great range of quality drum and bass, at low, low frequencies."

SATURDAY JUNE 13TH
The Mashup Mafia are proud to present Low Rollers in Wellington featuring special international guest DJ Redeyes from France absolutely free! Thanks to some team effort a...nd backing from local sponsors, Wellington will now enjoy Redeyes and his lush selection of tunes absolutely free for one night only! He put the Auckland venue at capacity during his last visit - so it pays to get in early and secure your spot as there's no tickets for this event so it's first in first served and capacity is strictly limited! Mark it down in your diaries and start spreading the word - France's #1 liquid drum and bass producer is coming to Wellington, and you've got no excuse to miss out!
DJ REDEYES (Bingo, Creative Source, Innerground, Brigand, Spearhead, Good Looking)
Redeyes emerged as a DJ on the French drum & bass scene in 1999, quickly gaining a reputation for his eclectic selection and tight mixing skills. In 2001 he formed part of the Audiabrasive collective and soon embarked on a number of residences in Toulouse, supporting the likes of Fabio & Grooverider, Bryan Gee, Dj Marky, Ray Keith, Craggz & Parallel Forces, Bad Company, Nu:Tone, Commix, Break, Kemal, Ruffstuff..More recently bookings have extended abroad, from the legendary Swerve sessions at the END nightclub, Movement @ Bar Rhumba, 1xtra BBC radio (guest to Ldouble connection show), to Tokyo, Bangkok, Pekin, Munich, Paris, Moscow, Auckland, Berlin, Budapest, Madrid, Ljubjana, Vienna....
Initially listening to hard rock as a kid, Redeye’s ears soon caught onto hip hop as it emanated from across the Atlantic and into France during the late 1980’s. Record digging culture then unlocked his ears to the wider gamut of Afro-American music – jazz, soul, RnB, dub and funk, while an open-ness for the rapidly developing landscape of electronic sounds drew Redeyes to the jungle sound.
It was only fairly recently (2003) that Redeyes’ passion for music urged him to take the step into production, and his rapid development is a testament to the effectiveness of tools such as AIM and readily available music production software, which have proved powerful catalysts to emerging talent these past few years.
Today Redeyes’ productions are played by Roni Size, DJ Marky, Gilles Peterson, Laurent Garnier, LTJ Bukem, Fabio, Grooverider, DJ Zinc, Bailey and Nu Tone, his tunes get regular support on radio (Radio One/ 1Xtra, Kool FM, Life FM, Origin FM..) and with releases on Bingo, Creative Source, Innerground, Brigand, Spearhead, remixes for the famous Tru Thoughts records (home of Alice Russel, Quantics, ect)... ...it looks as if we’ve only just heard the tip of the iceberg in terms of his output.
His debut album has just hit the streets on Spearhead records, with some mighty collaborations (Random Movement, Mutt, Matrix remix, Deeizm, ect)... look out for more infos @ http://www.myspace.com/redeyesdj
Date: Saturday 13th June
Cost: Absolutely FREE!
Doors: 9PM-6AM
Where: The Garden Club, 13B Dixon Street - Wellington
With additional support from top-class liquid drum & bass talent Mr. Smith, JMC, Static, Excelle, Dunk and Rowzy.
Most importantly, a very special thank-you to The Garden Club, Puma, Skull Candy, Mukuna, Bassdrop and our crew on the ground (namely the DJ's - Mr. Smith, JMC, Excelle, Dunk, Rowzy, and sponsors like Dylan, Dale, Lisa and Andrew)!
