The Monti Before we ring in the New Year, catch this documentary by Lauren Hart from the CDS. It really captures the essence of our shows!

Lauren Hart of the Center for Documentary Studies has produced a very nice short 10 minute doc about The Monti. She was kind enough to share the finished product with us!

oh, Jeff, that is just wonderful. Great job, Lauren.

Our mothers have a lot in common. Yes, it was extraordinarily difficult, but doesn't it make for some great storytelling. In fact, I just thought of the one I am going to tell the next time it fits the theme of a StorySLAM.

Happy New Year-- can't wait to see you on the 14th.

The Monti A crowd favorite! When Jared Wolfe arrived to his first StorySLAM, he had no idea that he would be telling a story, much less the first story of the night! Some people can just nail it when they get up and tell a story and Jared nailed it! Don't miss this one, people! Recorded LIVE at The Monti on June 16, 2009. CONTAINS AUDIO ONLY!

The Monti Now that 2009 is coming to a close, The Monti is wondering, "What were your favorite moments from the past year at The Monti?" Out of the 124 stories told in the last twelve months, certainly you have a favorite; or maybe it's not even a story but a single moment during a show. Let's hear about it, people!

PVN...hmmm, you're not biased or anything. I agree though, any story about a traveling puddle of urine is aiight in my book.

social psych. is very interesting---a show on npr awhile ago cited that hotels use "group think"--it has been found that there is MORE compliance when signs read, "we find that most of our patrons use their towels ( ) days before putting in laundry" led to hugely increased compliance--message, we want to be like "most people"....."we find that "most people" choose to discard their empty cans and bottles HERE" etc. rather than "Please recycle here"...
