The military coup that ousted President Manuel Zelaya has drawn strong condemnation from President Obama and the world. But will the US government offer its unconditional support for his return to power?

Beverlee at 1:26pm June 30
http://www.soaw.org For those of you who are unfamiliar with this faschist outfit...pictures show what is happening there, and there is a letter to sign asking Pres. Obama to call for the return of the DEMOCRATICALLY elected president. Like him or not, the people of Honduras elected him HONESTLY, and we need not to waffle on this one.

Henry at 8:33am July 4
It always amazes me these righties cry democracy yet the first thing they do deny civil liberties. Sounds like the 80's death squads are employed again. Darn wish I still had those buttons. I am not convinced that with or without Obama US is involved at some level. Nichols on Sly in the Morn more or less blamed the coup on John Kerry. God I am glad that buffoon never became president.

Forget the Republicans and pass real healthcare reform.
Pete at 3:45pm June 29
Moving to a single payer system is a huge endeavor because first we need to dismantle the huge and oftentimes unnecessary bureaucracy of the for-profit system and replace it with a leaner more efficient govt run health care system. So two things are in the way: first, those who manage that massive river of money that flows thru the current system... Read More; second, the American people who are deeply entrenched in instant gratification mode. If they don't see results right away, they'll start listening to the cable news yayos whose main product is reporting all failures except their own.
I wish I could say the Dems were up to the task. So far, they seem way too timid to enact anything. Instead of focusing on a few talking points that should keep the issue focused on their terms, they've allowed the Republicans to take drag out their tired cliches and scare the crap out of the voters.

There are so many issues the president is dealing with, and the worst problem is the Blue Dog Democrats. If they would get on board with what THE PEOPLE want, then Obama would be further along in his mess, and in keeping his promises. Read The Nation article about why Democrats can't lead. I believe much of the progress for the rights of women to be a facade for the West to look with optimistic eyes at a group of men that enforce a ritualistic opposition to the Christian faith.
