The New Death Show

The New Death Show is an American experimental pop/rock band formed in Delaware in 1995. Founding members Michael Sanchez and Jefferson Cundiff met at church and soon began composing and recording in Jeff’s basement with an old 4-track and drum machine. Davidson "DW" Burnam and Brendan Burns joined later filling out the band's rhythm section.

Brendan left in 1996 and the band became a trio with DW switching from bass to drums and Jeff from guitar to bass. In 1997 Davidson and Michael moved to New York City where both became involved in other projects.

The pair relocated to Seattle in 2001 where they reformed and reinvented the band, forgoing modern tradition by using pre-recorded keyboards and live bass loops in favor of bass guitar. They remained a duo with DW on drums and keyboards and Michael on guitar, keyboards and mic until their break-up in 2003.

DW founded indie pop duo Katharine Hepburn’s Voice with ex-Dalmations frontwoman Shannon Perry while Michael's solo project, The Way It Is, became a flesh-and-blood band after his move to Chicago in 2006. (read less)
