anyone know why my internet is really slow under FreeBSD and other UNIX clones, including OpenSolaris, etc. (tried them all with all browsers). I have dual boot with Windows XP, where everything works normal with any browser. Do I need to configure a proxy, or what? I'm not really an expert. The 'Looking up hostname' t...hing appears all the time, and is quite lengthy, which I think is unusual. It's probably not a problem with bandwidth, because I can download files in full speed, it's just accessing websites, but I can't figure out what's the problem... thnxRead More

Jimmie Andersson whats keeping RC2? c'mon now...

ldap and pam-mkhomedir, anyone know how to set directory ownership to the ldap user logging in ??
currently I got pam authenticating against ldap and mkhomedir creating the home directories, but it's owned as root:wheel and the user can't write to their own home directory -- have read the man page for pam_mkhomedir, t...he only way I see atm is setting an insecure umask in the pam definition....
any ideas guys and girls ?Read More
