I shead a tear for the passing of Northwest Orient Airlines. I will always remember her as Northwest Orient Airlines! Another great airline ruined by Wall Street Greed joins Eastern and Pan American. I will truely miss The Red Tail from the Twin Cities! Good Bye Northwest Orient and RIP! You won't ever be forgotten by this guy!

I thought NPR presented this story from a really classist/racist perspective ... basically suggesting that cheaper labor by people in "other countries" automatically equated poorer labor quality. The Red Tail did those laborers in other countries justice by showing their economic plight, yet also showing their excelled work ethic and commitment to craftsmanship.
