SCUBA G'day Divers! This week we invite you to Queensland, Australia to experience the S.S. Yongala, an incredible 110 m vessel that sank in 1911 and remained undiscovered (that is, undisturbed) for 50 years.

Giant marble rays, vast schools of barracuda, olive sea snakes and coral trout call the Yongala home. Brilliantl...y coloured corals and anemones form thick gardens on the ship's hull. Famous for the diversity, density, and size of the marine life which surrounds it, the S.S. Yongala is SCUBA's number one rated dive site in Australia's Great Barrier Reef marine park.

Where to stay? Try Yongala Dive, the nearest place to rest your head and dry your fins. Exceptional pricing, friendly staff, and the option of a professionally made photo diary of your excursion will leave you with memories that last a lifetime.

Don't know if you've got everything booked yet for the Cozumel trip, but Caribe Blu south of the town was great.. Close enough to the supermarket, great service, wifi, dive shop next door

Got my NAUI Certs over 10 years ago in the Persian Gulf. Dived in the Red Sea and Persian Gulf all over Saudi Arabia for many years before anywhere else. Then I lived in Puerto Rico and got to dive some great drift dives in the Mona Straights and British Virgin Islands. I sure miss diving.
