Jerry Davidoff died November 7, 2009, at the Connecticut Hospice unit
at Norwalk Hospital of complications from encephalitis, a virus of the
brain. He was 83. Mr. Davidoff was an attorney by profession, a former
elected official in his longtime home of Westpor...t, CT, a champion of
civil liberties, and a nationally active lay leader in the Unitarian
Universalist faith movement.

It is the morning after election day. I went to sleep early last night, when results were still unclear in all kinds of races around the country, and learned about them as I learn about many things now—on facebook. The first posting I saw was from a ministerial colleague—I am heartbroken for Maine.

Seya I recently joined the congregation in Sacramento, whose ministerial staff and members demonstrated unprecedented care and compassion for a relative stranger when it was most needed. Not even people whom I called friends were willing to help me the way UU people have. I'm grateful for the existence of this religion or philosophy or whatever one wishes to call it. ♥
