THE KING'S SPEECH opens tonight, having received some cracking reviews in the last couple of weeks.
The play inspired the film, but this is the first time it has been produced (obscure fact - Geoffrey Rush was sent the original script to put onstage, but felt it would work as a film, so took it to film producers instead...), telling the true story of King George VI's struggle with a debilitating speech impediment as he tries to rally a nation on the brink of war.
Starring Charles Edwards as King George VI, Jonathan Hyde as the speech therapist Lionel Logue and Emma Fielding as Queen Elizabeth, THE KING'S SPEECH opens tonight and runs until Saturday.
