If you're passing by Ponca City, take Exit 214, come on in to town and hit Angel Central - do some shopping and grab a map for Festival of Angels - lights are on the day before Thanksgiving and continue through the 30th of December! Not to mention tours of the Marland Mansion and Grand Home - both beautifully decorated for the holidays!

Oklahoma Tourism The good people over at the Gazette wrote a very nice article about Roman Nose State Park.... check it out!

On a late afternoon stroll, the sun glistened through the towering cedars as we walked across the rocks jutting up through the creek bed. Water gurgled and flowed down waterfalls, providing a peaceful soundtrack to a nature hike.

A friend I knew from Philadelphia was distrustful of the friendliness of Okies, and thought they were mocking him, until I explained to him that Oklahomans REALLY were that open and nice.

Oklahoma Tourism Did anyone catch The Colbert Report last night? The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne talked about the new official Oklahoma Rock Song, "Do You Realize??". I don't think we'll be taking Mr. Colbert's advice on a new state slogan however... What do you guys think about the new Lips song?

It was a cool interview. I've never been a Flaming Lips fan, but I'm listening to the new album that is streamed on Colbert's website and it's sounding pretty good.

The new album seems to be going back to their noisy psychedelic roots... I far prefer this to the "poppy" incarnation of the band.
