I'm in Australia with e65 phone. I will have to take up a mobile (internet access) data plan for that phone, won't I, to use truphone to call from mobile to landline? Any other way? What would be an appropriate plan just for the use of VOIP over that connection for that limited purpose?

Hi David, on Nokia E65 you can make both 3G (data) and Wi-Fi calls. The cheapest way is obviously via Wi-Fi, as there are no extra fees from your carrier. A data plan on the other hand will enable you to make calls outside a Wi-Fi zone however I’d suggest you opt-in for a flat-rate plan. Also, for £10 a month (about $18AUD) you can enjoy free unlimited calls from Truphone to all Australian landlines plus 37 other countries. Hi Amr, currently only Nokia users get a separate US Truphone number. However, you can still receive Wi-Fi calls from people calling you via their Truphone app and it’s usually free for them too.

Thats a mess, i already goot a nokia account through my number, and when i switched to iphone the support told me i have to remove my account to be able to use my number on iphone, and now you say i wont be able to use a US number on iphone but i can for nokia
Now i need to use my current account and cell number on the iphone, if i did remove it and register as new, what am going to do back when am using my other nokia on the same line ? i mean am using them both

Kimberly Kristen Wong hi, just wondering.. on the website it says "Truphone provides mobile VoIP applications that let you make free calls to other Truphone friends when both of you are in Wi-Fi." what if we have an unlimited data usage plan on iphone? can we connect to the internet through the data plan and make calls? will they be free if both users are on truphone via data plan? thanks

Hi Kimberly! Unfortunately it's still not possible to use iPhone's data plan for calls. However, you can make a non-Wi-Fi Truphone call using only your local minutes to someone who is in a Wi-Fi zone anywhere in the world, just use Truphone as usual. Hope that helps!
