Our last Family Fishing Day of 2009 is this November 14th at the UF ponds. We would love for all of you to come out for a morning of fishing! The Family Fishing Day is free, open to the public, and catch-and-release. The fishing will start at 8 a.m. and end at 12 p.m. There are seven... stocked ponds with channel catfish, bluegill, and largemouth bass. We will have loaner poles and bait (hotdogs, cut liver, and bacon) available, but everyone is welcome to bring their own equipment and bait. Please leave your pets at home. As this is our last event of 2009, we will be giving out grab-bags of goodies to all the kids. We will also have our casting challenge where all participants win a prize.

In an effort to support our program, we are collecting aluminum cans. If you could save your aluminum cans for us we would greatly appreciate it!

For information including directions, please see the Fishing For Success website http://lakewatch.ifas.ufl.edu/FishSUCCESS/. Please DO NOT RSVP unless your group is greater than 10 people. If there are more than 10 people in your group, please email, FishingForSuccess@yahoo.com, or phone, 352-273-3653, with your name and how many adults and kids will be attending. Don’t miss your last chance to catch a big fish at the UF ponds this year! Sincerely,
Dana

Hi there-
My husband and I have just started a new non profit environmental education center/ farm/petting zoo for kids and adults with disabilities. We are located in Brooksville, FL, and have had people that are ESE TMH, autistic, have Down's Syndrome, and many others out to visit an...d interact with our animals and enjoy the farm.

Our website is below- please check us out and let us know how we can become a resource for autistic youth in our area. My husband and I are both former Pinellas County public school teachers.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Center for Autism and Related Disabilities, UF Gainesville A tip from a CARD mom I've been meaning to share: Companions that accompany people with special needs get in for free at Regal Butler and Royal Park theaters in Gainesville. It's not an advertised policy, but it doesn't hurt to ask. The mom who gave me the tip said that a social skills group her son is involved in let in 5 companions for free.
