As far as your admissions question, it's a great one that many people may want to know the answer to:UMass Amherst offers an Early Action Program as opposed to Early Decision Program offered by some schools. Early Action is an early notification of an admissions decision. The decisions will begin mailing in mid-December and continue to the end of the month. The decisions that are mailed include a variety of outcomes - one of which may be acceptance - so if you have very strong grades and exceed all of the criteria in the application, you may hear good news by mail in December. I know it's hard to wait, but that is just part of the College Admissions process.

Hi, there are summer classes available, but most students choose to go back home. I will check into living opportunities, but I think many of the the residence halls close over the summer so most students who are here, live off campus. Still Amherst is most beautiful during the summer and a lot of people stay and do research and work. What else can we help you with? Best, Lisa

Hi, Rob. The best way to get student opinions is to come visit campus. You will meet student tour guides, and you can also go to the dining commons and talk to all kinds of undergrads. We also have a class group for UMass Amherst 2014 on Facebook that you can join and start discussions with others who have applied. Our students really like it ... Devamıhere and find that their studies as well as the social scene are the best around; and Amherst was voted the number one college town in the U.S. so it's a very good choice. Hi, I was not sure if you are living in the U.S. or in Columbia from your initial note. if you are coming to the U.S. from another country, there are some additional steps to the application process that can be addressed by the International Programs Office. If you already reside in the U.S. then you just need to apply through the graduate school. Sorry for any confusion. Have a great weekend.
