US Lacrosse and the NCAA have both announced minor rule changes for girls' and women's lacrosse. Most of the changes, which range from administration of time outs to the authority of umpires, will take effect with the 2010 season.

For the girls', the major changes deal with uniform and equipment, game personnel, fouls, penalty administration, manufacturer’s specifications, and umpire procedural changes. On the womens' side, the changes include: wording clarification, umpire authority, and specific fouls for cross-checks.
