In this session, UW alumni Robin DiAngelo* and Özlem Sensoy* return to the COE to talk with students about the first years after the Ph.D. Topics will include: navigating the job market, publishing what and where, service and politics of academic life, activism and resistance in the context of the academy, working at ...an R1 institution (Özlem) versus teaching college (Robin). They will also discuss the publication process by sharing the life story of their most-recently published article (from the draft first submitted, to the reviewers’ feedback, to the final published article). All questions are welcome, and feel free to bring a lunch!

Robin is a tenure track assistant professor in the department of Education at Westfield State College.
