Yes, if you want to go old school, you gotta go with Vancouver Whitecaps and drop the FC. Still pissed my Sounders have the stupid FC thing attached to the name. So lame and contrived.

Great news, everyone. The team is keeping the Whitecaps name. It's the right thing to do. I don't have a big problem with FC. Just as long as the team advertises the game as "soccer".
George, I hear what you're saying. However, I do feel that the FC moniker does give both of our teams more of a global feel. Just as long as the two teams ... See Moremarket the game as "soccer" and not "football". This is North America, not Europe. Just be grateful that your team kept the Sounders name and didn't go with "Seattle FC". Like Toronto FC or FC Dallas. If I were a fan of one of those two teams, I would have been happy with Toronto Blizzard FC or Dallas Tornado FC. Congrats on the Sounders' great first season.

I agree with Andre. North America has its own soccer history and NA sports teams have nicknames. Really pisses me off when MLS teams seem to be trying to emulate the EPL or something rather than doing their own thing. Some of the nicknames are so lame. 'Real' Salt Lake takes the cake. Don't do anything stupid like that. Just stick with Whitecaps.

It true the Whitecape playing in the MLS is going to make it a little more fun for us Sounders fans. The Sounder, Whitecaps, and Timber have probably one of the oldest Three way rivalry in the MLS it make good football.
