Here are some quotes from "The Beanery". "But the game remember most, and the most fondly, was the only one against KMI's third team. One of the players on the team was Vic Mature, the future movie star". Jim Settle was both in Ormsby Village and KMI at didn't want to get recognized by the KMI students during the football game in 1930.
"Victor ... See MoreMature was in my freshman class, and I have the KMI 1929-30 catalog, Which was a freshman class picture including him at age 15 and me at 16. He was just a big, friendly, sometimes mischievous kid who seemed to be forever walking off penalty tours in the "bull ring". Another future actor who attended at that time was Jim Backus.

David Rafferty I've enjoyed Victor Mature's performances since the early 50's and lately in movie reruns.
I didn't know he was a cadet at the Kentucky Military Institute at Anchorage, KY until I bought a book by James Settle, a student at nearby Ormsby Village County home,called "The Beanery" with my Uncles in the 30's and also a stud...ent at KMI and member of the band. In the book there is a group picture with Victor in it and he was mentioned by the late Mr Settle.
