Its all about money and selling tickets. The basketball program was selling tickets before they made that move and yes it was a good thing. The football program hasn't had that kind of interest for some time. More people are interested in tailgating then going to the game. The move to div. 1 in football was about the university getting a paycheck when they go to big schools and play. How soon do you think UT, Florida, or Alabama will be at Smith Stadium to play, it won't ever happen no matter how much money the university, Houchens, or the alumi put into it no matter what division we are playing in. The bottom line is that Elson is the fall guy for the athletic program since the football program is doing terrible and both Elson and selig both recieved recent pay increases. They really should have fired Selig.
