Metro (or WMATA) serves a population of 3.4 million in a 1,500-square mile area around the nation's capitol.

Metrorail serves 86 stations connected by 106 miles of track with more than 1000 railcars.

Metrobus serves the nation's capitol 24 hours a
day, seven days a week with 1,500 buses.

MetroAccess, which began providing paratransit
service in 1994; provides service for about 1.5 million
people each year.
