Marvel at the breathtaking spectac...le of animals brought to life by award-winning director Julie Taymor, whose visual images for this show you’ll remember forever. Thrill to the pulsating rhythms of the African Pridelands and an unforgettable score including Elton John and Tim Rice’s Oscar-winning song “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” and “Circle of Life.”
The day begins with a reception starting at noon at The Bushnell. The performance follows at 2 p.m.

A Christmas Carol by the Trinity Repertory Company.
Celebrate the magic and wonder of the holiday season with this beloved New England holiday tradition! Appealing to young and old alike, this timeless tale of the power of forgiveness shows us that any...thing is possible – and hope is always just around the corner. Resident acting company favorite Timothy Crowe stars in the role of Scrooge. The production is a welcome reminder of the magic the holidays bring.
This event includes a morning reception, which is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at the Trinity Brewhouse, 186 Fountain Street in Providence.
The show begins at 2 p.m. at the Lederer Theater Center, 201 Washington Street in Providence.
Cost: $57 per adult, $15 per child (ages 2 through 14)
Seats are located in rows B through F of sections 3 and 4 of the Chace Theater at the Lederer Theater Center. Discounted ticket price of $57 or $15 includes admission ticket and pre-show reception at the Trinity Brewhouse.

Cirque du Soleil brings its newest production, "Alegria," to the DCU Center for a spectacular performance.
"Alegria," which takes its name from the Spanish word for joy and jubilation, is a baroque and operatic production featuring flamboyant costumes, extraordinary lighting and an elaborate set. It is an impressive mix... of skill, strength and speed combined with elegant, almost ethereal performances.
Cirque du Soleil's international cast of 55 acrobats, musicians, singers, clowns and characters will captivate you with this two-hour spectacle of breathtaking acrobatics.
Events on Dec. 10 begin with a WPI reception at 5:30 p.m. at KJ Baaron's, 220 Summer Street, Worcester.
The show begins at 7:30 p.m. at the DCU Center.
Cost: $52 per person (adult, child, senior citizen)
Seats are located in section 235 of the DCU Center.
Discounted price of $52 includes admission ticket and pre-show wine tasting reception at KJ Baaron's. A children's "tasting" will also be available.
