Marie When did the students move into the school for the fall? Like what was the date you all moved in?

I moved in the weekend before fall semester started, I think. By the way, congrats on being accepted. It's really not too bad out here, most concerts/big events are about an hour away (Salt Lake City) but we have plenty of bad Chinese restaurants, theaters, a few small live music places, etc. to keep you occupied. The real adjustment for most out ... See Moreof staters is the relatively weird attitudes towards drinking and the large amount of married students on campus (both a product of the dominant religion out here). There's still lots of single people, and the classic college experience is available, you just have to work a little extra hard to find it.

Weber State University Are you fearing the freshman 15? Do you visit the registrar's office more often than the gymnasium? Are you gearing up for your annual tryptophan-induced-post-Thanksgiving-dinner coma? You might want to take some advice from several WSU professors, featured in a story in today's Standard-Examiner.

i gained 60 twice and lost it twice while an undergrad at WSU... of course - i have two little fitness instructors to chase after while keeping up with the coursework until SPRING and motivate me with a whole lot of PLAY everyday after. ;) (i'm thinkin' a PE class may have been the easier route)

Are you kidding? I lost 15 as a freshmen... then gained it back as a Sophomore... then lost it again as a Junior... then guess what... gained it back as a Senior. This can't be healthy.

@Maren, I wish my backpack only weighed 10 pounds. This year isn't as bad as the year I had a 45 pound backpack though...

If you can think of any other ways to get the word out, that would be cool. We could do it if we just got the word out. We have to have more than 9,000 people at Weber, right?

Weber State University Did you know about the massive book sale in the library today and tomorrow? It could be the least amount of money you will ever pay for a university-related book.

Once again, most clothbound books will be available for $1 or six for $5. Most paperback books will be priced at 50 cents or three for $1. Specially priced books, series, videotapes and magazines also will be available.

Well I grew up in Chicago.....and Ogden isnt that small its about 90000 people and then there is Salt Lake..Just imagine yourself living in a smaller metro area...there is everything you need here..Malls and stores...and they have a Train that goes to Salt Lake....feel free to ask any other questions...everyone is very friendly out here..but they need to learn how to drive..ha ha

Ha, they do need to learn how to drive.
Marie, Ogden really isn't too "small town". You'll find that there are more neighborhoods and less business areas than you are used to, but not too much. No matter where you are in Ogden a store is usually no farther away than a ten minute drive. Especially if you decide to live on campus, there is a grocery... See More store just down the street. There is a mall about 4 or 5 miles away from campus as well. Ogden is a pretty friendly area too, despite what some people say. :)
I hope this information helps! Feel free to send me a message if you have any other questions! And congrats on getting excepted!
