*notes book* I've been beading for a long time and have never learned any weaving\stitching. Your pieces are inspiring me to learn. Such beautiful work you and the Mr. are doing!

It's a great book, and darned near infamous in beading circles. Any time I go shopping for 15/0 beads at brick and mortar stores, the shopkeeper looks at me and says "Laura McCabe?"

I go through 15/0 beads at a prodigious rate these days.

I'll cop to using 7 strand tigertail when I string light necklaces. I use sterling silver thimbles on each end, a good crimp (which I *do* crimp, then close), and crimp covers. I also run the tigertail under about three beads before I cut it, to give it a little more grip. I haven't had any problems using tigertail, but for heavier necklaces, I do use stronger wire. Not that I'm stringing much these days. I've got a full docket of beadweaving projects, and some to grow on.

don't use it on much heavier....they aren't kidding on the break strength listed. I used to tell people that I used wire over stretchy cord b/c if wire broke, it breaks at the crimp bead so you don't lose any beads & it's easy to restring. But if stretchy pops then beads go everywhere. Then I had a few people give me wire jewelry to fix that had ... See Morebroken in the middle & it was all 7 strand.
I've never had 19 strand break in the middle...one side will pop out of a crimp bead every once in awhile, but overall I like it. 49 is way to heavy for me though.

Nowadays I have to use stretchy cord for the interchangeable watch bands & I'm still NOT a fan of stretchy. (who wants to restring/redesign the same thing with a baggie full of beads?)
