Until the internet, artists got mass exposure only through radio and then television, usually as a result of radio airplay. Both served each other's interests mutually. The costs of performance taxes and other measures will discourage potential investors from radio and likely put many current owners out of business. A separate government effort is underway to tell stations what shows they can air. With so many prohibitions, the radio industry will dramaticallly shrink in size and quality.
