I think it is ridiculous that there are still businesses that don't allow paid sick days although I worked at plenty of them in the past. It seems that, especially with the swine flu going around, we would want sick people to stay home rather than come to work and infect others. The firm that I work for would much rather pay an employee for staying home sick than have them come into work and get others sick.

Working Families Party What's the best way to encourage folks to vote? AT the last Netroots Nation, I heard a great answer to this question. It's this: "Ask others - and yourself - what your voting day plan is? When will you vote? How will you get there? Do you have a list of the candidates you like handy? Do you know where the polling station is?" Any other ideas?
