I only use XBMC to gather metadata for files. XBMC offers to export the metadata as individual files for later importing.

XBMC High Definition, Surround Sound, and Subtitle, Media Flagging and Filtering in Video Library has now finally made it into XBMC SVN

http://xbmc.org/theuni/2009/06/15/media-flagging-support/

...now we just have to wait for all XBMC skinners to add support for this new feature in their skins, it is entirely up to them if and how they wish to display these media flags.

GPU (Graphics Processor Unit) Hardware Accelerated Video Decoding is so far only supported in XBMC for Linux, this is done via the VDPAU API by NVIDIA.

For decoding high-bitrate 1080p and 720p H264 videos on an Atom based system you absolutely need GPU Hardware Accelerated Video Decoding, which today is only supported via VDPAU on NVIDIA 8 and 8 series GeForce, like the Ion chipset.

The current Atom CPU's are not quite fast to smoothly decode all 720p videos when encoded with high-bitrate H264.... Read More

XBMC for Linux fully supports HDMI video/audio as long as you use the latest device drivers from NVIDIA and latest version of ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture).

Acer Aspire Revo is fanless and there is a SDD (Solid State Drive), so is the single-core Zotac Ion motherboard.

Absolutely amazing, great work. Does the VDPAU allow hardware decoding of flash video? Or is the dual core atom up to HD Flash like youtube/hulu etc.?
