On Oct. 22, 2009, the YMCA Joe C. Davis Outdoor Center honored Dollar General Corporation and Cal Turner, Jr. for their very special gift to support the construction of our overnight residence camp. To show our gratitude, a mock storefront display of the first Dollar General store was unveiled in the Turner Dining Lodg...e along with an interactive audio component to help campers learn more about Dollar General’s history and commitment to good character values. Because of Dollar General’s support, children will have a special place to forge friendships, sharpen character and strengthen confidence for generations to come.Read More
