Olympic Gold Medalist Steve Macknowski (Saunders '39) with Superintendent of Schools Bernard P. Pierorazio (Yonkers '70) at the centennial celebration of Saunders Trades & Technical High School, October 2009.
Mr. Macknowski, a member of the Yo...nkers Canoe Club, won the Gold in the 10,000 meter Canoeing event and a Silver in the 1,000, during the first Summer Olympic games after World War II.
