David Bookbinder

David Bookbinder Beware of VERY clever and sneaky phishing e-mail that looks like it comes from AAdvantage. It offers $50 and 15,000 miles for completing a short survey, and then, on the 2nd page asks for your SS# and date of birth. I came VERY close to falling for it. Here is the link:

Phil Mattson

Phil Mattson well ty for giving me the aa email for complaints but i tried that and even talked to your customer service. they did nothing for me. i was stranded in texas for extra days and had to drive form abeline airport to dallas just to miss my flight by 15 minutes and had to rent a room at the hotel there. my flight left earl...y because the head of your counter marked me as a no show for his own personal gain. i arrived early for my flight and was greeted by said employee at the outside door and was told"have a nice flight" even when he knew he was the one who cancelled it! i was told there was nothing you could do? so what can you do?

Proper English is a great start. Not abbreviating like you are sending a TEXT message is a real professional approach as well.

Sean Meyer Has American or American eagle looked at returning service to SBN. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would welcome the added service.

Connie Grady at AA Executive office spoke with me. She was gracious and understanding and a pleasure to speak to, even as she told me there wasn't anything AA could do. I explained that I was just irate over what I saw was a policy that was abusive to consumers and frustrated that I had no recourse. The money involved was actually a small amount... See More (... See Morenot that I wouldn't like to recover it, but still not significant in the grand scheme of things). And so we hung up with the issue unresolved, but with someone from AA providing a sympathetic shoulder.......
15 minutes after we hung up Connie called me back and left a message. Of her own accord, without my asking or prompting, she pursued the matter up the chain of command and was able to find someone to OK a reasonable resolution. I got some cash back with the ability to use it for anyone on a subsequent AA flight. So - I still believe the policy in place is abusive and not well explained at time of ticketing. I'm still "irate" with the industry, as this issue is not unique to American. I'm unhappy that others would not have had the wherewithal to pursue this, as I'm certain it happens every day with many carriers.
However I am delighted with Connie Grady and her willingness to pursue a fair and reasonable solution. I thank her for her understanding and kindness and for her focus on customer service. She was terrific before the resolution and even better afterwards.

Good for you. I still think the policy is what it is.

But Todd, while that's true, exceptions to the policy simply show that American does understand its passengers. In other words, it's good!
