This course is an online audio/visual presentation and exam that teaches you the theories of ethical decision making as it applies to: scope of practice, informed consent, confidentiality, discrimination, conflicts of interest, illegal or unethical acts, fraud, research, and more.

From what I have been told by several Healthcare providers who have benefited from someone's will (they were the purson's caretaker!) this is a practice that happens very frequently. Where are the ETHICS police when this was all going down?

The TV show "Three Rivers" portrayed an end-of-life situation of an ALS patient (excellent acting) - I recommend that show as a discussion point.

The homecare company I work for has a company they work with who contacts the patient in 72 hours, and then we contact them also. If there is a mask issue, it is replaced. Respironics/Phillips has a one month, no questions asked policy if the patient is not happy with the mask. I also work at a hospital. One weekend I had 2 patients in the same ... See Moreday who were diagnosed with severe OSA and never received their equipment. Not sure who dropped the ball on that one, but it was probably the homecare company.
