ABOUT ADIDAS NATIONS
Starting in 2007, adidas Nations elevated the world of grassroots basketball with a dynamic, global approach to talent-evaluation camps. Acknowledging the current state of the game, adidas embraces the responsibility of educating the world’s top youth players and future stars. The message is clear: Basketball is rooted in teamwork and the future success of the game is dependent on a return to this key tenet. At adidas Nations, the world’s top 18-and-under players are selected to seven regional teams -Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe, Latin America and the United States (2010 and 2011). A multi-faceted international curriculum featuring NBA coaches and players, as well as current collegiate players acting as camp counselors, will provide invaluable insight and first-hand knowledge to the participants, illustrating the pressures, rigors and challenges that accompany the rise of a future NBA star.
ADIDAS NATIONS CURRICULUM
For the second year, adidas Nations will be held at the world class Integrated Athletic Development Center in Dallas, Texas. From
August 4th- 9th, the world’s top 18-and-under basketball players will come together for the most intense international training and competition program. Each of the seven regional teams will consist of 12–15 of the top players from their respective global region. Former NBA coaches will each be assigned to a regional team as Head Coach and current NBA players will act as Mentors providing additional support and guidance.
Within the span of five days, team will receive expert training and strategy tips while participating in drills and scrimmages. Off-court elements essential to all athletes’ success, such as nutritional education, global interactions, leadership and philanthropy, will also be woven into the program in creative and dynamic ways. The culmination of camp will feature an intense Championship game pitting the two best regional teams against one another.
In closing, each athlete attending adidas Nations will thrive under the expert eyes of current and former NBA stars and coaches and Athlete’s Performance Institute (API) trainers, the leaders in the Sports Science field.

adidas Basketball continues to evolve the game at the grassroots level and in 2009 we are proud to introduce a new interactive element at Nations. Eastbay, the official retail partner for adidas Nations, will be the official online destination for adidas Nations camp coverage. For the first time ever players, fans, coaches, scouts and family members will be able to learn about the world’s top 18-and-under players and watch the highly anticipated Championship series on Saturday, August 8th starting at 3:45pm CT.
