Shahana Do our senior year grades matter? If we get a's and b's is that ok

Shahana, all students who come to Iowa will be sending us a final transcript from the senior year of high school so that we can make sure the grades are consistent with what we saw in previous years. While it is possible that a student who fails a majority of their classes or drops considerably can have their admission revoked, it is not a common action for us to take.

Zach Mayo The presidential application is due on december 11. If you take the ACT on december 12 can those scores be used for the application process or no?

If you are taking the ACT or SAT in December, you have to indicate at the time of the test registration that you want your score sent to us. If you contact the testing agency after that, your score may not reach us in time. However, we encourage you to submit the scholarship application and other supporting materials before the deadline if you meet the GPA criteria. Hi Zach. Iowa graduates have been accepted to medical school at rates above the national average, according to this page of the UI Academic Advising Center's web site: http://www.uiowa.edu/web/advisingcenter/premedicine.htm. That web pages has some great resources for pre-med students, too.

Hi Audrey. Since the team has two Big Ten match-ups at home that weekend (Nov. 6 against Ohio State and Nov. 7 Penn State), it may be a good idea to buy your family's tickets in advance. You have free admission to all of the volleyball games at Carver-Hawkeye Arena with your student ID. Call 1-800-424-2957 weekdays from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Details: http://www.hawkeyesports.com/tickets/iowa-tickets-volley.html

Hi again Audrey. I asked a volleyball rep for advice, and she said: It is not necessary to purchase advance tickets. Your family can purchase tickets at the door. Tickets are $3 for adults. UI students get in free. Students 18 years old and younger get in free as well! All seating is general admission, so the earlier you get to the match the better seat you can choose!
