You would have to pay the $250 acceptance fee, but the fee is refundable prior to May 1 if you choose not to enroll at Iowa.

Ashley Harney I have applied to transfer in for next fall and i have more than 24 credits but I never took physics in high school... will this keep me from getting in or is there something I could do?

The high school course requirements look for 3 total years of sciences, 2 of which come from Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. So if you took Chemistry, Biology, and a 3rd science course then you will have met the requirement for entrance into the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Jena, if you do not meet the RAI score then you should apply under the individual review process. This will allow you to send in 2 letters of recommendation and a personal statement for an admissions committee to consider while making their decision. We also can take any new information from this year, so if your grades are higher this semester, send us an updated transcript and we can use that as well.

Nick Mizaur

Nick Mizaur My father is military and we are stationed in Georgia. However, even though we live in Georgia, my mother is still a legal resident of Iowa, pays Iowa income tax, has an Iowa driver's license, etc. Does this mean I can be classified as an in-state student? I have already been accepted as an out of state student and off...ered scholarships based on that status, and I'd like to know how this might change my admission/scholarships.

Hi Nick. Establishing residency for admission and tuition purposes is procedurally handled through the UI Registrar's office, and its web site says online applicants may be classified as nonresidents until the Registrar's office has had a chance to review your application to determine if you qualify as an Iowa resident. I recommend calling 800-553-... See More4692 and asking to speak to the Registrar's office to confirm your status. Also ask the Registrar about how its ruling may impact your scholarships, but depending on the scholarship, you may also have to follow up with the office awarding each scholarship. More details online are at: http://www.registrar.uiowa.edu/TuitionandFees/Residency/ResidencyTuitionFAQs/tabid/189/Default.aspx Best of luck!

Hi Mike. You should call us to talk about changing your major now (before Orientation) because the orientation programs you will be eligible to attend will be based on your major. Also, there may be different admission requirements between psychology and pharmacy interest. Call us toll-free at 800-553-4692 (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays excluding holidays -- the office is closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1).

Ricky Razdolsky If you applied for housing already when do you find out what you got and where do you look?

Hi Ricky. The Housing office doesn't begin announcing room assignments until May (for students in living-learning communities) and June (for all other students in on-campus housing). At that time, they will also provide information about your roommate/s. More questions? Send housing an email at reshall-housing@uiowa.edu

Elizabeth Anne

Elizabeth Anne I'm mailing my housing form tomorrow. What are the chances that I'll still get my first choice (Health Sciences Living Learning Community) or am I too late?

Hi Elizabeth. Your chances of getting your first choice housing option really depends on how many other students have applied for housing and selected that living-learning community as their first choice. You could contact University Housing (reshall-housing@uiowa.edu) and see if they have an idea of your chances.

If you haven't already mailed your housing application, you could save some time by submitting it online through your Admissions Profile on ISIS.

Jackie English

Jackie English hi, i was accepted to iowa for fall 2009 but decided on a different college. Do i still have to apply again if i'm transfering? I know i missed the spring enrollment date which sucks! anything i can do?

Given your situation, Jackie, I think you should call and talk to a Transfer Admission Counselor at 800-553-4692 (between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. CDT weekdays). You probably won't need to submit a new application, but the admission requirements could be different for a different area of study or college, and we can explain that over the phone. Also when you call, ask if there are any steps you can take to enroll for spring 2010. Good luck!

Yes, Aimee. Faxing is probably the best way to submit the change-cancel form. You could also mail it, but faxing is faster, and when housing applications are involved, sooner is always better!
